A 70-year-old Champion
At the age of 72, Diego Bermúdez Cala (Morón de la Frontera, Seville, 1850 – Puente Genil, Córdoba, 1933) entered the 1922 Cante Jondo Flamenco Contest in Granada and he won it! El Tenazas de Morón, as he has always been known, impressed Falla, Lorca and all those gathered in that historic event. A century later, the Trío Arbós summons Rafael de Utrera once again to pay homage to El Tenazas and his entourage. The Trío Arbós and the singer from Utrera have been working for more than three years at the points where flamenco meets contemporary creation (including the release of an album). With arrangements by Juan Carlos Garvayo and works written by the Motril-born pianist himself, this show aims to stir memory and shake conventions.
