Mozart as he has never sound before

René Jacobs represents to opera what subtitles represent to the cinema. After decades devoted to the repertoire of Handel and Monteverdi at the Austrian Alps of the Innsbruck Festival, he needed a change, and during the last years he has been using his archeological kit in order to return Mozart to his original condition. The new stage concept designed by Frederic Amat and commissioned by the Festival, the costumes of the singers and the lighting will take us to the day in hich the opera was premiered under the baton of the composer himself. Versus the tirany of the image, Jacobs’ version uses original instruments and recovers the recitatives and spoken parts in a masterful fusion of music and words.
