An European Stroll with Improvisations

Juan de la Rubia is one of the greatest players of the Spanish organ today. Leading player of the spectacular instrument of the Sagrada Familia in Barcelona, De la Rubia has been standing out as an improviser, and that facet will be very present in this program, which he has prepared for the organ that today is in the transept of the Monastery of San Jerónimo, but that Fray Francisco Alejo Muñoz originally built for the Convent of Santa Paula, also in Granada. There will be four sections of music from two centuries in which Spanish music will merge with Italian and Central European music, with interludes between them and an improvised ending, in the best tradition of organists on the continent.
