Young Performers of Contemporary Dance
Since 2007, the Youth-in-Dance workshops have been held to complete the classroom teaching with stage practical work where dance students can prove their expressive and artistic capacities of dance. As a result of the collaboration between the Professional Dance Conservatory “Reina Sofía” and the Granada Festival, these workshops have made it possible, for 14 years, that many dance pieces from prestigious choreographers of all styles are premiered by young dancers. The result of the work carried out in the current course will be reflected in two new choreographies: Por Bandera, by Jerez de la Frontera-born Andrés Peña, for the specialties of Spanish Dance and Flamenco Dance; and Odami, by Carlos González and Seth Buckley, for Classical Dance and Contemporary Dance. It will be an opportunity to see current dance productions interpreted by these young performers.
