Roots and Fusion
Gugurumbé, a premiere for this Festival, sets off from an idea around which Accademia del Piacere has been working for years: the dances of the Hispanic Baroque are born from a crossroads of influences that are also in the origin of flamenco. In this project, which features singer-songwriter Rocío Márquez and soprano Núria Rial, the group places special emphasis on the weight that African rhythms had in all of this, coming to Europe from America. The music will be joined on this occasion by dance, which, choreographed by Antonio Ruz, will mix flamenco with contemporary dance. A coming and going between oceans, cultures and styles, ideal to celebrate the V Centenary of the first round-the-world trip.
