A Tribute to Women’s Singing

This is an exquisite repertoire of contemporary female voices as a tribute to women’s singing. A risky bet with a variety of registers and sound forms. Thus, the cardinal points of the most ancient ancestry in the jonda tradition will be represented by some female guardians of the essences. The city of Seville will be defended by Herminia Borja “La Chula”. Lebrija by Anabel Valencia and Utrera by Mari Peña, two long-standing singers. The veteran singer from Sanlúcar de Barrameda, María Vargas, joins her art to the husky voice of Juana la del Pipa, the matriarch of the Agujetas, Dolores de los Santos, and the youngest of the Sordera family, Lela Soto, as ambassadors of Jerez. Granada will have La Nitra and Chonchi Heredia as its representatives, and the Almería of the ‘tempranos’, will bring the singing sounds of Rocío Segura. A historical night revolving around women’s singing.
