Two Strong Pillars
The beautiful extension of Camaron de la Isla’s school finds in the Catalan singer Juan Rafael Cortés ‘Duquende’ one of its strongest pillars. Cult artist, he was one of the favourite voices of the master of masters Paco de Lucía, with whom he toured the entire world. The tempo has no secrets for Duquende, who plays with the rhythm elves at will, creating truly magical moments. Next to him will be a guitar player who has been showing for years, despite his youth, that he has a golden place among the best of today’s guitar, Carlos de Jacoba, from Motril. A proverbial creator, a guitarist with long registers, he stands out both as an accompanist (alongside figures such as his brother, David de la Jacoba, Israel Fernández or Guadiana), and as a soloist, an aspect that he usually adorns with the honeys of his own singing. Two key pieces, two strong pillars of present-day flamenco to delight whoever has the good fortune to come to feel their music.
