Auditorio Manuel de Falla (Paseo de los Mártires, s/n)










Participants: choir conductors and leaders with a solid choral experience, advanced direction students and teachers from Conservatories and Music Schools

Teaching staff: Mathieu Romano and Pablo Heras-Casado. Choir: Ensemble Aedes (Mathieu Romano director)


Contents:  masterclasses on choral conducting. Warm up, rehearsing methods, gesture technique, performance.

Classes will be given in English, French or Spanish


Repertoire: students must bring two works (perfectly studied), one of them will be from Victoria or Gesualdo, and the other from the proposed repertoire:

Gesualdo: Moro, lasso, al mio duolo

T.L. de Victoria: O Magnum Mysterium

Poulenc, Motets pour un temps de Noël : O magnum mysterium; Quem vidistis pastores dicite ; Hodie Christus natus est

Berio Cries of London (I, II, III IV and V)

Fenelon: Das ich dereinst


Dates and venue: from June 24th to 26th, both included, in morning (10.30 to 13.30h) and evening sessions  (16.00 to 19.00h). Venue: Auditorio Manuel de Falla (Paseo de los Mártires, s/n). On June 24, students will be able to attend the rehearsal of the concert to be performed by Ensemble Aedes in the framework of the FEX of the 67 Festival Internacional de Música y Danza de Granada.

Seats: 5 participants. Each participant will be able to conduct the pilot choir at least twice. Observers will be welcome by strict order of reception of applications, according to the capacity of the venue



Selection process: those interested in taking part in the masterclasses as active students must send together with their applications, a link to a video (YouTube, Vimeo…) with good quality of image and sound, with a duration of 5-10 minutes including a recent performance. Students must also attach a short CV outlining studies and courses they have undertaken, concerts they have performed at, etc. Selection will be made by the teachers and results will be communicated to the applicants by e-mail
