Presentation. 50 Manuel de Falla Courses
Presentation. 50 Manuel de Falla Courses
Dates:
Organized by the International Festival of Music and Dance of Granada in collaboration with the University of Granada, Manuel de Falla Courses underline the educational vocation of the Granada Festival, by covering advanced teachings in music with a high level of perfection, in order to update studies and professional fields of music and dance, with a renowned teaching staff.
This year we celebrate our 50 anniversary: a wide variety of masterclasses, courses and workshops will be scheduled around core training topics as composition, musical analysis and interpretation, and other related matters as inclusive scene (the workshop sponsored by Obra Social “la Caixa”) and the photography of artistic performances workshop, which gathers a different look of the Festival through the cameras of the students and teachers participants.
Some of the activities scheduled revolve around leitmotivs present in the Festival’s program, as the centenary of the premiere of The Three-cornered hat by Manuel de Falla, which will be present in the Classic dance masterclasses, and very specially, in the musical analysis course.
We will collaborate with other cultural events as the International Congress devoted to The Three-cornered hat, organized by Foundation Archive Manuel de Falla, Granada University, the Complutense University of Madrid and the Spanish Ministry of Culture through the Spanish National Research Council (CSIC) and Spanish Cultural Action; The Town Hall of Granada and The Council of the Alhambra and the Generalife.
We will also host the X Meeting of ROCE (Net of organizers of educative and social concerts), whose origin is strongly bounded to the Manuel de Falla courses, pioneers in this field and that in 1999 hosted the first Master’s degree in Pedagogic Concerts, organized by Granada University.
Finally, together with this educative offer, a commemorative book gathering up the history of 50 years of high teachings in the framework of Granada Festival will be published in autumn.
