Youth and Hope: Dance to the rhythm of Queen and Mozart
A reference in the world of dance, the Béjart Ballet Lausanne directed by Gil Roman presents Ballet for Life, a show conceived in 1996 as a double tribute to the singer Freddie Mercury and the Argentine dancer Jorge Donn, principal dancer of the Ballet del Siglo XX and the Béjart Ballet Lausanne, both of whom died at the age of 45. Béjart pays homage to them with a ballet that does not speak of mourning with sorrow or tragedy, but instead invokes youth and hope. It is a beautiful and moving piece on the music of Queen and Mozart, served by a cast of more than 30 dancers that Versace, the Italian fashion designer and friend of Béjart, knew how to dress with elegance and imagination: “he dressed the souls of the dancers”.
Performance with no interval
Estimated duration: 1 hour and 45 minutes
