The Inspired Voice
Very few will be aware that there is Granada blood flowing through the veins of this Catalan singer, who is one of the most coveted voices of our times, even bordering on the realm of mythification, as she is full of that flamenco art in capital letters that advocates for truth, gut feelings, and the immediacy of improvisation and forms which are constantly reinvented and regenerated in each venue. Montse Cortés, a flamenco genre in herself, is a descendant of that flamenco lineage from the Andalusian land that migrated to the landscapes of the Catalan sardana. There she was born and reached the mastery of Andalusian art in a purely Camarón way, as she catapults each style into the heavenly spheres of musical fantasy and limitless jondo music.
