A Consolidated Project
The sixth edition of the Baroque Academy, placed once again under the auspices of the great countertenor and conductor Carlos Mena, will culminate this year with a concert celebrating the death of Alessandro Scarlatti 300 years ago. Scarlatti was an essential figure in Europe at the beginning of the 18th century with music that marked the history of both opera and sacred music, to the point that many attribute to him, if not the invention, then the consolidation of the da capo aria. In addition, religious works by the Granada-born José García Román, whose current compositions connect tradition and modernity. A unique opportunity to enjoy two musical universes separated by centuries, but united by their depth and expressive richness.
